Quick Update from the Bike Team:

Good day friends and family! We are currently in Connersville, Indiana at a fairgrounds setting up camp. The last two days have been full of meeting new faces and having great conversations about numerous topics. We have been averaging about 60-70 miles a day and the weather has been between ravaging storms and beautiful “sunny with clouds in the way” skies! For those of you who don’t know, we have been in the process of figuring out our own way across the US instead of following the “pre-programmed” maps we had been using. This tends to keep us on our toes and praying everyday for where to go and how to get there. God has been extremely faithful at giving us favor everywhere we go and with almost everyone we ask. Its crazy! Thank you, once again, to those of you who have been a part of being able to provide us with a place.

After meeting with Luke’s grandparents who treated us to some lunch, another huge blessing came our way when Luke’s parents met with us on our way to rainy Terra Haute, Indiana. They, in fact, put us up for a night in a motel after taking us out to eat at TGI Fridays. The Elkins, Luke’s parents, are actually missionaries with a group called “Pioneers Missions” who is presently partnered with New Tribes missions. We heard some interesting stories about their life and ministry in Durango, Mexico where they have been working on Bible translation and community development for quite some time. We also heard some funny stories about Luke as a crazy child…

Just last night in Martinsville, Indiana we had an excellent time hanging out with the fairground caretaker named Charles and listening to stories about his life, the town etc. It was a pleasant surprise when he invited us over for breakfast and chatted some more over eggs, biscuits and gravy. Mmmmm….plus we didnt have to do dishes. All of this to say that the more we embark on this journey (as its coming to a close), the more I am seeing how the Lord is blessing us everyday when we aren’t asking for it or even expecting it one bit!

Prayer Requests:

-Curtis, Chris and Luke’s knees are all having troubles and pains from past injuries or surgery- please pray for quick healing and strength

-more boldness to be upfront and lovingly share the good news with people

-more love, patience, and for one another as we live in very close proximity with one another

-one more church to teach at; perhaps in Washington DC?

-safety and strength for riding 6-7 hrs. a day on a bicycle!

-that the Lakers will lose tonight (Alex and Curtis) ;-)

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
