Servanthood Evangelism Update

CIMG3672

This is an update written by Dave our Servanthood Evangelism Coordinator:

This week the servanthood evangelism teams made visits to the Hanomaulou and Kapaa public housing communities. The community meeting center at the Hanomaulou location was not accessible for disabled residents and was in need of a wheelchair ramp, maintenance had begun work on a ramp and several of the students were able to assist in construction. The past three weeks students have also been involved in cleaning units that had been abandoned and left decrepit by previous tenants who had been drug addicts. We were told by Dean, the maintenance supervisor, that the removal of old property from a single unit by students had saved the community three thousand dollars! Also, in Kapaa we were able to directly assist and serve elderly residents who needed help cleaning their apartments. The more time we spend at these projects the more relationships are being developed. The majority of our time is spent practically serving others but our priority is always to reach out and minister in Jesus' name to the residents, the majority of whom are catholic, jehovah witness's and mormons.
